About me

Silke Steidinger
I am an experienced Attachment Based Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist based in Bethnal Green, East London, E1.
I try to create a warm, non-judgemental and creative therapeutic space that feels safe enough to talk about sometimes difficult and painful things. Frequently, issues we struggle with stem from unconscious conflicts and from past experiences, and psychoanalytic psychotherapy facilitates bringing these issues to consciousness. This increases awareness and enables self-exploration, and opens the door for proactive change, healing, and, most importantly, the development - or rediscovery - of your true self.
I have extensive experience in various creative fields and can help with anything connected with creativity, creative blocks and fulfilling your potential.
I have been working as NHS psychotherapist at NHS Personality Disorder Services and HMP Pentonville, offering Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT) and clinical assessments and co-facilitating an NHS Mentalization-Based Therapy group for individuals diagnosed with personality disorders.
Please feel free to email me if you would like to arrange a consultation or if you have any questions, confidentiality guaranteed.
Attachment Based Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in Bethnal Green, London
Attachment-Based Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy focuses on the importance of relationships to our well-being and development throughout life. This type of psychotherapy is a cooperative exploration by the client and the psychotherapist. The idea is to provide and develop a secure, caring and reliable therapeutic relationship with professional boundaries, which can heal the effect of previous relationships or experiences that might have been difficult. Experiencing and co-creating a more secure attachment can have profound effects – it generally improves our relationships, our emotional self-regulation, our sense of well-being, and how we see and deal with the world. It makes us more robust when faced with adversity and can reduce anxiety, depression, addictive behaviour and other symptoms that can cause suffering or make us feel trapped.

It is one of the few independent organisations offering objective information and advice on so-called cults and sects, or what we call minority / new religious / spiritual / radical movements.
